QUICK BIO
The original series tells very little about Tsuruko except several facts. The first being that she is Motoko's older sister and that she married a man thus leaving the the life of the sword behind. Before leaving the life of the sword, Tsuruko taught Motoko all about the sword and guided her through her youth. However, Tsuruko fell in love and left the traditions of her family to Motoko.
